YOUR RECIPE FOR CRISIS

The problem is once there is a crisis everybody seems to be an expert, some people right now are putting on masks as they drive alone in their cars others are told that if you are not sick just put on the mask inside out. The police are doing a great job enforcing “stay at home”, the other day after we told them why we were on the road, they okayed us but advised that my wife should take the back seat, I pleaded with them that it’s my wife but they would not take that in.

We have people who post all kinds of instructions and others have specialized in discerning “Fake” and Not Fake posts.

What we all need is to be safe, if we look at biblical guidance the word used is salvation. Here now is the first pair of recipes for your safety. Repentance or returning to the source of safety, our hiding place our strong refuge, our very creator. Secondly, resting in him.

Think of yourself as a drowning swimmer if you can beacon the lifesaver to your side, once he has you, you need to relax. Isaiah 30:15 says, in repentance and rest will be your salvation.

Yet even when your lifesaver got you, the waves keep threatening you, recently one young man became a hero for rescuing a little boy who stood in the middle of an angry flood here in Kigali, once the rescuer got the boy, the little one held on him with such confidence and trust, you could think he was his father.

Isaiah hastens to add in Quietness and Trust will be your strength.

Thus, in a Crisis you need only two things safety (salvation) and Strength to endure.

Your recipe for this season is repentance mixed with rest, Quietness, and trust in Jesus Christ all these yielding Salvation for your soul and strength in God.
